As an active participant in fandom spaces, the representation of marginalized fans, like myself, is very important to me. And as a person with scholarly privilege, I would like to use my knowledge in service of the communities that mean so much to me. And I must do so in a way that is accessible to the average fan seeing that my research draws from their experiences.
